In Term 2 Week 1 I was preparing for the Lockheed Martin Code Quest.
Why to do it
I think it will be challenging for me to see what are the real-difficult-questions in the competition will be, so that I can have a basic understanding on the level I am currently at in coding.
What happened in the competition
There are some hard questions but I came through them, with correct outputs for my algorithms, the machine didn’t admit it and gave me 0 points for my submissions, this was frustrating…
Mistakes I made
I should aim for easy questions first then hard questions (although a hard questions worth 10 easy questions for the marks…), for some reason, even I think the hard questions are easy for me and I did make a efficient algorithm that will work, the machine wouldn’t give me mark and say that I have a correct result however a wrong answer or a runtime error, and there is no information included. I believe the machine was picking on me tho… As if it admits my submissions, I will made 235 marks by myself, where the team who won the competition got 170 marks…
Conclusion
I felt bad making 0 contribution, and it is my fault… I will try contribute with some easy questions next time for a team competition, and I will try harder for individual comps next time. Also I will start my project in week 2.
